YOUR Higher Ground Thought For Tuesday (03-22-16)

|

I met Steve when he was a tough 12U running back. He later was an exceptional student in my advanced math classes. Today, Steve Rigdon is a doctor of internal medicine and my amazingly caring primary doctor. A year ago, after I had several incidences of very minor chest pain, he ran tests and quickly set me on a path that led to six very successful cardiac bypasses on March 24. His concern and commitment are exceptional and I repeatedly thank God for Steve Rigdon. Living in the same neighborhood, I also note that same commitment, exceptionalism, and concern when I see him walking in early morning darkness, freezing temperatures, or afternoon heat, picking up litter as he goes along. He understands true commitment and the value of doing whatever contributes. He realizes that “if you are too big to do little things, then you are too little to do big things.” What about us as coaches, players, employees, and family members?
